What Diabetes is

When a person consumes food, their stomach turns it into glucose, which is basically a fuel for the body. It then enters the bloodstream where it is carried by you're body's insulin to the muscles in the body. In a diabetic, the insulin is destroyed before it can carry the glucose out into the body. That causes the glucose to build up in the bloodstream, which causes high blood sugar. Without insulin, the energy from the glucose is never carried out to the body. That is why diabetics must inject insulin into their bodies every day to prevent dangerously high blood pressure.
